Nanjing Road?
By SUSIE12 | 8/3/2006 1:13:05 PM
I am always curious why everybody mention Nanjing Road when they talk about Shanghai. In 1900s, it was the most fashionable place in Shanghai, while now, out of time. only left those shop signs. almost all the guys walked on that road come from other places than Shanghai. that's why you are easy to meet with those terrible things. you needn't consider about safe when walking on Huaihai Road, Xujiahui or Xintiandi. those are the places now represent modern Shanghai. you may also enjoy the beautiful night along the river on the riverside promenade, just forget the west bund sightseeing tunnel. why not come to Duolun Road if you are interested in Shanghai culture. there are residence of famous persons. so many places you can go. if you really want to see Nanjing Road, have A look is enough, just check the shop signs, maybe different from those on your book.

Beware
By UXB69 | 6/27/2006 10:21:12 PM
Re; ROCKYR dated 15 April 2006. Same thing happened to me. 2 Chinese girls saying could they walk with me, to practice their English, for their export company. Asked me for coffee, next thing whisky arrived. I left after 1 drink. The bill arrived for 1,500 yuan. Luckily I only had 300 on me. Beware who you have coffee with in Nanjing Road. I took a photo of the respectable looking shop..

Shanghai Bund @ nite
By BIRDIEJK | 6/13/2006 11:45:07 PM
While strolling at Shanghai Bund and enjoying the nite scene, do watch your bags and valuables. Place is crowded and beware of snatch thieves. A guy shouted that he had been pickpocketed and gave chase but the thief 'disappeared' into thin air!

The taxi price in Shanghai has been rised!
By PEA28COCK | 5/11/2006 8:13:10 PM
According to the news, taxi price in Shanghai has been rised. The new price is 11 Yuan for the first three kilometers and 2.1 Yuan for each extra kilometer afterwards.
It will take a pretty long time to install new mileometers to all the taxis in Shanghai, therefore if you go to Shanghai within half a month, you will find both the old and new price systems. :)

Because they will make your trouble by invite you to have a cup of coffee at the shop as same as one coffee shop at the 7th above of the jewery shop that they have any relatetion, then they will order whisky which very expensive price and you will pay allmost not lease than 4000 RMB. for your first time on Nanjing road. and they will leave you at the end.I don,t know why the chinese police don,t arrest that shit.

Airport Taxi From Shanghai Airport
By ABNORMALEMALE | 4/9/2006 7:45:17 AM
some Taxi drivers may come to you when you exit the airport, pretending that they speak english and that they know exactly how to take you to your destination, try to ask them something in English, you will be surprized, and ask them for a receipt, each cab has a printer attached to the meter, it should start printing and making noises as the driver pushes the meter`s scren to reset it, if he didnt reset the meter, nor activate the printer, prepare yourself to pay a very huge fare, I paid the first time I came 500Yuans, from the airport to my hotel near the city center.
