I searched and found that there were buses between Guangzhou South Railway Station and Macau bu couldn't find the schedule. There is a bus station near the train station. You may contact them to get the first-hand info.

Ferry: Go to Nansha Port to take ferry. It leaves at 13:45 and costs CNY 180. BUT the ferry is only available on Saturday and Sunday.

Bus: You can go to some [tcgurl=http://www.travelchinaguide.com/hotel/guangzhou-hotels.htm]hotels in Guangzhou[/tcgurl] to take direct bus. It costs around CNY 65.

GUEST42250 Hi i will having a stop over in ghuangzhou airport for 24 hrs can i go out if thr airport to have a short outside guangzhou airport? What is the nearest tourist spot i can go? Is my 24 hrs time will make me able to go to macau and come back? Hope someone can answer my questions thanks.

If you want to get out of the airport, better apply a visa in your country (transit visa or tourist visa are both ok).
