Does a city need to be full of greenery to make it beautiful?
As a photographer I find a lot of cities look lovely in the early morning light just as the sun rises.

I need greenery! Real greenery with no traffic noises, birds, streams without plastic.

as a very amateurish photographer... I think we can create some beauty out of less than beauty, that is the skill art, so sorry Dave, that arguement doesnt win me over.

Not a beautiful city as such, but I rate Zhuhai as the most civilised that I have visited in China... they have mostly eliminated car horn noise, and drivers are actually quite patient and don't believe they rule the road and the pavement..YES I know how that must be a shock to most people in the rest of the country, but it is really very pleasant :) :)

I'm leaving for my China trip soon and I fancy a challenge Paul. I will take a photo that has no greenery and try to win you over. If I dont send you one then you know you have won and I will sit in the corner and be quiet. hehe

i think Lijiang (yunnan) is the most beauteful city in China .not only the green mountain and Jade Dragon surrounding and encircling it make all the view so splendid ,but also the weather is mild all year around ....

I too need greenery and quiet to feel the beauty of a place. There may be beautiful spots within cities, but all cities are UGLY to me.

I would also need greenery and the seaside, both for the cleaner air quality, I've had more illness since I moved to city life, there are some nice parks in cities but I with Griz on this one.
