GUEST75553 Long story shot i just got my china visa today. June 16 2016. I have a criminal record of bs arrests like smokung weed in public and criminal possession of cocaine from 10 years ago. I was worried if i answered yes that i would be denied a visa. So i went to the embassy in nyc manhattan and put a check for criminal record the guy who was interviewing me said i need a printed out paper or my criminal record. i told him i didnt have it so he didnt let me process my application. i than did it thru visaexpress.net. they were able to do it for me and i have to pay them an extra 89 + 29 for express delivery so total was $256 (only cause i didnt wanna wait another 3 hours at the embassy and drive to manhattan pay troll plus pay for parking) the embassy ask alot of ? and needs alot of info for visa. they asked for info of when i was leaving china i showed a print out of how i am leaving china they also asked that i did for a living since i put self employed. but that wasnt enough for embassy i got a call back 2 days later that i need to put an actual job. so i told them my previous job of a security officer after i put that i had no problem getting processed and i got my visa today. leave for china in 6 weeks.. so yes you can get a tourist visa to china if you have a criminal record. JUST MAKE SURE YOU DONT PUT A CHECK ON THE DO YOU HAVE A CRIMINAL RECORD ON VISA APPLICATION. AND YOULL GET YOU VISA WITH NO PROBLEM.

GUEST14320 The Criminal Background check should be on the passport, that way a passport in hand is proof you have no criminal record.

GUEST74238 I have three felony convictions on my record, I was able to get my visa. However I did not get the 10 year visa that I requested, I only got a visa for one entry.

GUEST05145 Need a visa for China and have a Canadian Pardon. Should I say no on application? Can they see your record or know you have a pardon?

As it's a long time ago, and you are merely applying for a tourist visa, I don't think it will have big influence on your application. Just relax!

GUEST15173 How did you make out, and what country are you from? Did you check yes or no? Did you get a visa? Which type?

GUEST51199 I'm going to China in a couple months, I've told the guy who hired me that I have a felony conviction (distribution of narcotics 12 years ago, nothing since) and he doesn't seem worried at all about me getting a work visa in S.F. I feel a little more reassured about it after reading these posts.
