We have never been to china before.. 23rd december: Early bus from Shanghai south bus station to tunxi, stay the night in Tunxi. 24th december: Early bus from tunxi to tangkou - leave our luggage at tunxi bus station. Quickly onward from tangkou with bus. Then we take the bus so we take the 6-8 hour west route up to the top of the mountain. (then we take the bus from tangkou to where?) We plan to sleep on top of the mountain in some of the hotels 24-25 dec, do we need to reserve in advance? 25th december: See the sunrise, take a nice walk down the mountain - take the bus to tunxi where we get our luggage and bus directly on to the next town and new adventures... What do you think? |

| GUESTJEROME | Hi group I need some help. I would like to go to huangshan mountain from shanghai for a weekend trip. However I can't depart shanghai until after 17:00 on friday. Is there any way to get from shanghai to tangkou (or otherwise tunxi) after this time. I looked at flights and trains and both seem to leave earlier in the day. There was one post on another forum that suggested there was a bus from shanghai south bus station at around 17:00, but this was an older post so I don't know if it exists. Can anybody help with information or advice. Thanks |
