In India we have a festival called 'Deepavali' or 'The Festival of Lights' and we light up earthen lamps and lanterns. It happens at a different time but the whole concept signifies history and culture thousands of year past us! The lights symbolize the scattering of spiritual radiance. In fact this festival has a historic association which signifies victory of divine forces over wickedness. I am so happy to learn these things in China too which has an abundant treasure of history!
