Sorry, Tinawen posted about 5 times before my "spam" reply, but the moderators apparently removed the extra posts.
When I went to Fenghuang I alighted at Huaihua and went directly to get a bus to Fenghuang. From research I didn't see any reason to dally in Huaihua.

It would be much better to take the direct bus from Changsha airport to Zhuzhou.

GUESTMATT Just went to Changsha and Fenghuang. Flew Guiyang to Tongren then caught a taxi to Fenghuang (45 minutes, 150 yuan). Cannot recommend Changsha and Fenghuang too much - beautiful places.

Taxi: around CNY 120, 40 minutes.

Bus: take airport shuttle bus to Civil Aviation Hotel (near the railway station) and then take No.312 bus (CNY 3) to West Bus Station.

I am now in Shenzhen and will be making my way to changsha in the next few days. I would like to get to fenghuang and spend 5-7 days there. Is there any way you can help me arrange this? Once I am in Changsha, is it relatively easy to get to fenghuang if I do not know mandarin? I know enough cantonese to get by, but am afraid once I get deeper into china. Please let me know if we could meet in Changsha!

From which railway station to which airport? Can not understand what you were talking about.

What is the bus schedule from Changsha West Bus station to FengHuang? Some one told me the bus ride only takes 5 hours but some people say it takes 10 hrs. Which one is correct?

8：20，10：40，15：20，17：20

Ticket price: CNY 130

Duration: about 5.5 hours.

GUESTCINDY Hello, we are (4 ladies) traveling to Changsha. Our flight will be arriving changsha late night, around 11.30pm. Is it safe to take taxi from the airport to sin Wei hur tin hotel at midnight? Is this hotel far from the city?

Any information you can provide is very much appreciated.
