| I travelled alone during the spring festival recently to Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Nanjing from Jinan against all the advices of postponing my trip. Outcome was that I had an adventurous and thrilling trip. It was nice to see places with people in a festive mood. Since I planned my trip well I could do everything as planned without the help of a guide and I didnt take flights. I am a foreigner and cannot speak chinese except a few basic words. If you are used to crowds do it in May 1 as the weather is good. Tickets are of course going to be the tough part. Its good if you have some chinese friends. (I paid 50 rmb more and got a ticket to Shanghai) - Praveen |
