So..go to a different university...If you don't return before the beginning of the fall semester, I doubt you will still have a job waiting for you. They will hire someone else.It is very easy to find english teachers in Beijing

I would tellthe uni to get stuffed! If they can't get you a visa on the mainland or by visiting HK, they are not worth working for. There is absolutely no reason you cannot apply in HK AND theoretically on the mainland...but mainland offices have been reluctant to issue them...for some unknown reason. Contact a visa agency and ask if they can get you a Z visa in co-operation with your uni.... I am confident they will say 'yes' but it will cost. THEN go back to the uni and tell them. Most won't budge: a combination of losing face and not being in the guidelines they have to work from. So going around in a circle.... tell them to get stuffed... there is a massive shortage of teachers in China...unless you are a real academic....most of us are just teachers of English even in a uni.

I am intending to process my Z visa in HK this coming August 19 or on the 20th (2010),,I would like to know whether it's possible for me to process it there "again"??I have the complete documents just like the one I had when I went there last year January (2009) also for my Z visa...but I am not sure now whether it's possible or not...

GUEST94512: There is no obvious reason why you should have a problem. But first press your employer to getb u a Z visa from the local PSB. It is suppoesed to be possible....tho it seems no-one has told then PSB's!!! Or try a visa agent, tho itb will cost. Or if you are leaving an employer in a friendly fashion, try to get your residence permit transferred.... It's possible but requires the two employers to co-operate and it must be organised before the old permit expires.

In theory, You can go to hongkong to take a z visa. But this time, your university asked you to go home, it is a pity. However, you can go home, then stay with your family, it is a pleasure. Ahaha! So enjoy yourself.
