Hi there, I placed an order on January 2, 2014. The seller provided me with
EE526071573CN tracking number. I have been unable to track this parcel. I am not sure what is going on. The seller kept on saying that order is on its way. Please help!

GUESTJOE This is extremely interesting. I've successfully received EMS shipments before from various parts of China with no problems. My current shipment is from Tmart.com, a notoriously under-performing online retailer. (If only I'd known before ordering) They have given me the EMS number that starts with EE and ends with CN, with 9 digits in the middle.

What I notice, is that everyone who is having trouble has an EMS number in this format, despite the fact that the first E simply stands for "express" and the second letter can apparently be anything, it goes up in a series. CN obviously stands for China.

The seller claims to have shipped the product from Hong Kong on the 6th of Feb, but normally it doesn't take 48 hours for tracking to start working.

In fact, when I ship stuff, as soon as I organize the dropoff, the status changes to "electronic shipping info received" and progresses from there.

But EMS have been in business for quite some time, and their performance is world class. I don't think customers would tolerate it if the tracking status does not change until after the product has arrived at the destination.

At this point I suspect that the seller has not actually posted the parcel, or not posted it correctly. Why they would try to get away with a fake tracking code when Credit Card companies can easily reverse payments made in error to scammers is a mystery to me.

But this is the first time I've had something shipped where the tracking code doesn't start working immediately on notification that shipping has occurred.

By contrast, an acquaintance in France dropped a parcel off and emailed me that he had just gotten home from the post office, it, and the status was available online as soon as the email arrived!

Again, other EMS parcels seem to track fine.
