Guiyang

It's exam time so I'm off on the first of many visits to Guizhou. I took the overnight train to Guiyang with two days of organisized day trips before flying back to CQ.

Dali

Dali sights included the Old walled city, a cruise on Erhai Hu and the new cable car up to Zhonghe Shan for a great panoramic view over Dali and the lake.

Lijiang

After an overnight train to Dali we made several shopping stops on the afternoon bus trip to Lijiang. With only one day in this beautiful mountain town we spent most of it queing for the chairlift to the Yak Meadow.

Kunming

Kunming and the Stone Forest was the first stop on this week long trip to Yunnan

Zhouzhuang - Not feeling well I got a late start for the day and barely had an hour for a flying visit to the famous canal village of Zhouzhuang before the last bus left for Shanghai. But this hasty visit was well worth it.

Wuxi

Wuxi, on Tai Hu is well known but not so famous is Dingshan which is noted for it's caves and the pottery of Yixing county and produces masses of cute little teapots. It's also the place where one of my friends lives.

Shanghai

Staying with one with one of my ex-pat friends, I was able to enjoy cosmopolitan Shanghai without busting my budget - Shanghai has so much to offer from the Bund to the French Consession and Nanjing Lu's shopping.<br>
