Domestic airfares and timetables for trains and planes
JABAROOTOO | -General- | 6/27/2007 9:56:41 AM

It's right here in Travel China Guide's Web site. Scroll up to the top of the web page you’ll notice there are 7 tabs beginning from the left. Home, City Guide, Tours, Cruises, Hotels, Testimonials, Community - where this forum is located

On the top right of the page you will see two more ICONS A Plane, and Search tab.
You'll find trains in the Search sub-menu.
A simple click on these and you will enter a search window where you are asked for your input

PLANES gives you drop down menu for point of departure and arrival, time of day you wish to fly and will give you a list of all flights between these cities, including times, aircraft type, price and days of the week each service is available

TRAINS gives you ‘leaving from’ and ‘going to’ fields and a CITY LIST if you are not sure the spelling etc. If direct trains are available you will get a list of train numbers, departure and arrival times, total duration of trip and standard of train i.e. with or without A/C Train numbers also indicate the speed and standard of the trains and the reverse trip is coded with last digit change.
Clicking on the train number will give you all the stops the train makes and the cost of all the seats and berths available. Where there are no direct trains you may include the VIA field where you may need to change trains. Good idea to have map of China handy when using the train search.

SEARCH includes three fields and a dropdown menu where you can search for specific information on this site.

All prices are quoted in US$. Train prices and times are pretty rigid so what you see will not vary much if anything, however flights are more flexible and are subject to changes without notice. You may also pick up some good discounts for much less than the official quoted prices on some routes.

Below is another website which also gives availability of seats on flights and online purchase of tickets. www.chinahighlights.com

Bus from Wanzhou to Chongqing around three hours can be booked on the ferry if you don't want to stop in Wanzhou. Bus Y96

In Wanzhou there is a Fenicular to take passengers up to the terminal so you don't require any help with your luggage.
Fengjie has a lot of stairs so you may like some help.
In Wushan there are just a handful of stairs as the bank is low lying here. Side trip to Lesser Three Gorges.
Badong also has a few stairs. Side trip to Shennong Xi

Always get off the ferry first and check on the number of stairs before engaging a man to carry your luggage.
Y8 appeared to be the going rate.

In Wanzhou a taxi from the terminal up to town or the long distance bus station should cost less than Y10. If the drivers refuse to use the meter, walk outside the yard to find another one who will.
