i just came from beijing this week and i just want to share my experience from the great wall tour i took. i was comparing online and upon arrival on tours because there are so many and i really just wanted the most affordable and convenient way to see it so upon check in, the front desk officer of my hotel offered me a package of 160 yuan per person for the tour, which includes the great wall, the ming tombs, a van and lunch for 2 people. it sounded like a good deal but i was a bit skeptical since i heard stories that the cable car ride alone costs 50 yuan plus the entrance to the wall itself. so to make a long story short here are the pros cons: 1.) i was right, this great wall tour didn't need cable cars because we just went to the juyong pass, which is not as picturesque as bataling or mutianyu, but it was still the great wall so i didn't mind, after all this is the least popular of all of them so there were less people and my photos looked great. 2.) the chinese lunch was amazing. 3.) they gave a free foot massage, but i hardly enjoyed it because the therapist kept bugging us to buy herbal medicines and rubs. 4.) you had to make alot of stops to the jade, silk and pearl factory, although the tour to this places were very interesting, its the hard-selling of products that is very annoying. to sum it up, i had a very good deal only because i was not picky on which side of the wall to see and i have alot of patience and willpower to say no to all the hard-selling so if you are on a budget, then this maybe the tour for you
