Beihai Park

It is believed that before the Forbidden City had ever been thought about there was the Nine Flying Dragon Screen located in Beihai Park (beihai gongyuan). It also is believed that this screen with its nine different- colored dragons originally was built for Kublai Khan.

Along with the Nine Flying Dragon Screen, there are Jade Islet Isle, the Jade Jar of Dushan, the Painted Gallery, the Liulige Tower, Yong'an Temple, and the Five-Dragon Pavilion to see in this peaceful yet artistic place. Beihai Park is located just west of the Forbidden City.
