The Badaling Great Wall

Most tourists visit the Badaling section of the Great Wall, which means that it is heavily populated. More people climb Badaling Great Wall because it is quick to get to, some say easier to climb, and it is a fairly recent restoration.

The Badaling section of the Great Wall is about 72 kilometers northwest of Beijing. Also, the Badaling Great Wall is narrow on the top and broad on the bottom forming an snake-like shape.

I climbed the Badaling Great Wall in July 2005. If you are climbing it during the summer months, be sure to drink plenty of water so as to avoid dehydrating.
