A-Ma Temple, Oldest Temple in Macau

Some say that the oldest building in Macau is found here on the grounds of the oldest temple in Macau. A-Ma Temple predates the arrival of the Portuguese, and is located at the bottom of Penha Hill.

The temple and bay both are believed to be named after a poor girl who appeared as a goddess to a poor fisherman.
