I am more adventurous usually, but the fact that all 1,2 billion people will be off work when I travel freaks me out a little, so I would like to book it in advanced. I really need to reach my flight from Hong Kong on the 10th, so no other options and no playing with the schedule.

The Hostels I can also book. Does anyone have any experience on what Ensuite means? I thought it might mean there is a Shower a Private one in the room, as the Ensuite is the most expensive option, and the rest have Shared Shower noted.

As for GPRS I will order a SIM from pandasim.com and be done with it.

A few things still on my mind and have no idea about.

Power outlets on Trains? I am most likely to take the T or Z trains and have the Soft Sleeper cabin with 4 berths.

Does the first week of october mean that people who wont find a seat on the train will try to come to the Sleeper cabins, or to the corridors?

ATM is available throughout China? I have a Master card, hope to be able to fetch money here and there, as I dont want to have the whole sum on me at all times.
