A job with a letter from her employer promising the job will be left open for her return.
Own her own property in China.
Proof that she (or you) has the resources to fund her stay (bearing in mind that a UK tourist visa is valid for 6 months)
Hotel booking or proof of accommodation, or maybe a letter of invitation with some proof of liquidity.

Some people advise NOT to mention a romantic relationship.
Some people advise to find a friendly UK Chinese family..... who might be related?

Perhaps now you can see why you going there is much easier, although to get your visa you will need to supply either proof of hotel booking or a letter of invitation from the host family. If the latter you will also have to register at a local police station within 24 hours or arrival.[/quote]
