>>However, what Sharapova recently has done makes me think that she might become the second Kournikova. She has attened in more and more business shows than ever since she got injured before Bejing Olympics. If she continues to do so, I guess that she won't win any Grand Slams. That's why I don't think she could defend her champion of the Australian Open this year.<< OK I see what you are saying now. There are two separate issues at play here. Sharapova's playing ability and her modeling/fashion/endorsement career. One has got nothing to do with the other. The only reason that she is attending more of the business/fashion shows now is because she can't play tennis for the time being. If Maria was healthy now you can bet that she'd be playing and participating far less on the fashion side. Yes she is lucky to be good-looking, but that shouldn't be held against her. Anyone in her situation would be taking full advantage of business opportunties while she is recovering from her injuries. BTW, I too have a shoulder injury (though not as serious as Maria's) that I got from playing tennis, so I know how debilitating it can be, and what she must be going through now. In the end, when Maria's tennis career will be over, you will find that she will have accomplished a lot more on and off the court than Kournikova has.
