They are not really phrases to compare, but different things.  Low carbon is a phrase used in an environmental context.  Increasing amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere is the major issue in global warming (specialists can correct me).  So low carbon travel is travelling in ways which produce the least CO2.  Planes are not good, and neither are cars.  Buses and trains are better because the CO2 per person is much lower.

Slow travel is exactly that: not travelling in a hurry.  It could be that you travel by walking or bicycle )  or by train instead of plane,  both seemingly great for CO2.  Maybe we might all travel by horse, or camel etc and we get rid of cars BUT those animals reduce gases from their digestion which might be just as bad as faster transport.  Hey, I'm not gonna right your whole essay for you so over to you now![/quote]
