If you are planning on inviting your gf to the UK before you marry you may well encounter problems. Single ladies will have to prove that they have the financial means to stay in the UK for 6 months and prove that they will return to their home country within that period. This can mean they need to own a property, have a letter from an employer promising their job will be kept open and have a substantial amount of money in a Chinese bank account. In other words immigration will suspect that she is not simply a tourist.
