Well, it all happened according to plan.
I am now happily married to my beautiful Chinese love.
It took some time to collect all the papers I needed - plus some last minute running around but overall, it was not that difficult or expensive.
In February, I tavelled back to Shenyang ad Yan and I married on the 6th March. A very very happy day. We chose the registration path rather than the big ceremony path because it suited us both. The results are the same. We spent some good quality time together (again) before I returned home to Australia.
We now begin the application process for her migration.
I have all but completed the paperwork which needs Yan to submit in Beijing.
Once again, it is not hard to do, but then, I have always had a pretty good filing system that makes record and information searching easier. 
Now is a difficult time for us to be married and apart (with no guarantees of her approval for migration) but it is all part of the big picture and it is just something we have to go through to get to where we both want to be.
So - if there are any Australian residents out there who want to know the process and the how - to's, let me know and I can maybe help.[/quote]
