Although the reasons for arranged marriages have changed from past to present. In the past arranged marriages were used because of family or community interest. Usually with some input by the children being arranged in the marriage. Arranged marriages in the present have a slight sliver of that motivation, but instead of 1 choice they are given a multiple of choices. Ultimately it is up to their children to decide who it will be. Sorry I'm digressing.

In my personal experience I have been placed in the position of an arranged "meeting" by my grandparents, which didn't pan out. They respected my choice, even though they keep their pursuit of finding someone for me. It isn't much of an inconvenience for me nor am I bothered by it.

Who knows, maybe they will find a girl that I would like to marry before I do.

For anyone who has a parent that was or is involved in "new arranged marriage" I wouldn't let it bother; they are doing it because they care about you.
