Heh. And here I thought by year 3000, 1. oil ran out, however, we won’t need any kind of transporter because we have already discovered how to do teleporting. No traffic, no accidents, no tardiness, no air pollution, best of all no more wars for oil! Yey! 2. everyone of us will be a walking computer where we can access data about virtually anyone and anything anywhere, using that thin air in front of you. That or we have already tapped into the mysteries of the human mind and everyone can do clairvoyance and telepathy. Sorry, we can’t lie anymore but this would make us more understanding by knowing how other people feel without them having to tell us. We’d probably be savants, too minus the bad genes, so…No need for computers. That is sooo year 2000. 3. you can get your desired outfit and looks (hair & make-up) in an instant by stepping into a device of some sort. 4. you can change the style, look and color of your rooms and house at a touch of a button. Maybe no need for a button if we have already mastered quantum mechanics? 5. professional athletes will be extinct because what’s the point of being ‘stronger, higher, faster’ when everyone else can be the same as everyone else by tweaking your genes? No need to be drugged because you are a designer baby! Athletes’ wax statues will be displayed in the museums all over the world as a testament of how people lived in the 2000 era. 6. doctors are extinct too because we already discovered how to prevent diseases and heal ourselves on our own. You can literally grow your own organs and limbs. 7. humans do not identify themselves by their race or nationality anymore. You have friends in every part of the globe and you can contact them and see them anytime you want to. Globalization has changed the world. Visa was a thing of the past. Family structure will probably be different. Even the very definition of a family will probably be very different. Humans will be more open-minded. Maybe not a utopia for some people though. Maybe same sex marriages will be very common and polygamous marriages for both sexes are totally socially acceptable. My guess is we would still like to party and socialize. We are social animals, after all. ^_^ Hmm… I could go on and on with this. Currently, we are in the Information Age. They said that the next thing to happen after Information Technology is Biotechnology. Biotech Age is already beginning.
