I have spent 4 years in China, and I must say, the majority of Chinese women are honest and forthright, but there ar ethose who have been scammed by their own people to involve themselves in a quick buck. However, if you are an astute person, and are not in a hurry, you can check out the woman you are dealing with. Have a cup of TEA with her or invite her for lunch and then start asking questions, most women will give you the truth in a short while, as most Chinese women have been taught not to lie. It appears to be different with most men. Try and date a woman from the city, a city that is close by and not hard to reach. I would suggest: Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Foshan, Xiamen, hangzhou, Shanghai, Wuhan and Beijing and of course Hong Kong...In these cities many Taxi drivers and transport people speak English, but if your stuck ask the Hotel clerk to help you with directions or to write down addresses for you. DON'T expect too much the first date...be cordial, and also a little distant, so you don't have to make a committement on the spot. Follow your 'Gut', if it doesn't feel good, it isn't. Try an date women with some degree of education and knowledge of basic English. Women from the farmm or country are not good prospects for you, as they are not travelled, and perhaps not too versed in sanitation. Shenzhen and Beijing offer the widest variety. But remember, when in Rome, do as the Romans do! Don't be arrogant or disrespectful. You will find most Chinese are lovely people, and willing to help you if they can. I have NEVER been asked for money or a handout, other than the "proffessional Beggars" you see in some area's. Just ignore and walk by. Don't try to rip anyone off, and be polite.....the old saying," what goes around , comes around" is always true! China is a beautifull country, so if your romance doesn't succeed, you can still enjoy yourself by taking in all of the scenery and places to visit. Good luck!
