"I have NOT tried that. I renounced my US citizenship and got my Chinese green card BEFORE THAT. I will eventually apply for Chinese citizenship." If you truly renounced your American citizenship and are not yet a Chinese citizen, doesn't it make your life difficult? For example, you no longer possess a passport and therefore can not travel internationally. You also receive no consular support in China. Apault-- What exactly do you mean when you say the concept of a "green card" is misleading? In the US, a green card is lawful permanent residency (immigration). I believe the people posting questions on this forum about the Chinese green card are interested in permanent residency, which is possible, though not exactly popular. They want to reside here indefinitely, and are not, as you suggest, simply seeking permission to visit or work. As there are more and more expat-local unions here, the demand for Chinese green cards will rise.
