X2: to those who come to China for short-term study. 
Z: to those who work in China.

The above sources are from the New Entry and Exit Regulations on Foreigners that will come into effect from September 1, 2013.

PS: It's said that visa extension become very diffuclt in many cities. Many people have to go back to their own country to apply for a new one instead of extending it inside China.[/quote]
