I have read all 37 pages of this thread, Please let me know if anybody has any advise for this situation. I applied for my tourist visa through the D.C embassy in person. I checked no, on the record box. Paid for regular service, got my visa back in 5 days, no problem. Now I am applying for my z-visa to teach english, so I can be with my fiance who is a Chinese national living in Beijing. Eventually we will apply for a US-K1 fiance visa so she can come back to the states with me. I was convicted of underage drinking while driving almost 7 years ago. I also have a dismissed paraphernalia charge from around the same time. I want to check yes, this time and explain what happened. So we will not have issues with the k1-fiance visa in the future. When you apply for a k1-fiance visa to the U.S. The U.S does a thorough background check on you, and forwards it to the embassy in Beijing. When your fiance is called in for her fiance visa interview. This information is disclosed both to the embassy and your fiance. My fiance knows I have a record, and I have already entered china on a tourist visa after checking "no" on the box. Question 1: Will they automatically reject my z-visa application if i say yes this time? since I said no for my tourist visa... Question 2: It seems like china does not forgive drug related charges, so my paraphernalia charge might get me rejected automatically. Even though it was dismissed, it would still show up on a background check. any comments? Question 3: If i enter china on a z-visa after checking "no" on the application. Will I be deported when the embassy receives my background from the U.S. So my fiance can receive her k1-fiance visa to the U.S????? Question 4: It seems like the consensus is that they do not check for z-visas, but does anybody have a solid answer on if they will check your background for a z-visa application??? Sorry this was so long, Merry Christmas everybody!
