Beijing is a city of tremendous scope. Traffic is heavy, and going from one sight to the next without returning to the hotel saves a great deal of time. In fact, a group tour is not a "democracy." A group tour in a foreign city is led by licensed travel professionals who understand the logistics of their city and speak its language and schedule the tour according to the city's traffic, tourist locations, and physical needs of the group members.
