Living in China is difficult also if you do not have the correct Visa, but Shenzhen is directly across from the Hong Kong border, you can do a "Visa Run" In the matter of a couple of hours depending on the border crossing you choose and the activity or congestion. Shenzhen has around 12 millions residents. 
I enjoy traveling and visiting Shenzhen every time I visit in Mainland China. If you can make an income in China then living for some years could be an option for you.[/quote]
