I hope I am wrong about my knowledge of the racial prejudice in the USA.  "We don't see my husband as anything other than American" I didn't mean that everybody in the USA is a racist. I mean racial prejudice is still a serious problem. Racial prejudice might not be as serious as it used to be.  Today's inter-racial relation is different from the scene depicted in the West Side Story. Day-to-day conflicts have been eliminated in the USA?

I am not a narrow-minded housewife. I give my children the freedom to find their life-companion.  I don't mind if my boy falls in love with a girl outside of my race. If my boy loves a blond girl from USA, it's OK. Love can cross the racial boundary. However, I want to emphasize that it takes extra time for two people with different customs and living habits to be well mingled.
