I will be travelling to some places in China that will requires me to have a tourist visa. Where is the best place to get the visa? Is it in HK where travel agencies offered Visa service, or in Chinese Embassy in my country or at the border of the place where Im going to travel if there is any? Safest way is to apply in your country of origin. Check the Chinese Embassy Website for your country of origin.

If you apply in Hongkong you may pay more for an expidatied visa and spend unnecessary time there on other related expenses.

Do not try to get a visa at Chinese Points of entry. They are simply not available.

One more point. If you plan to enter China more than once you will need to have a multiple entry visa.
