I'll be spending on month in Beijing this summer and need to know how much I would have to spend on food, transportation and any other expenses, excluding accomodation.

Food in Beijing is cheap, you may spend about Y5-Y10 for a meal (budget type).Public transporatation in Beijing is well arranged and price ranging from Y1-Y4 for buses and taxi meter price start at Y8. I can say the killing expenses won't be the above but the entrance fee paid. So budget more for that expense, prepare more cash rather than credit card, in Beijing almost 98% doesn't accept foreign card.

if you are on the low budget you could spand not less than 600 usd. (in a very chip accomodation and food).
if you are on the average budget you could spand around 800 usd and even more.

if the hotel room fee is not inclusive,the other charges for food,transportation are not expensive.
