I need to find out the dialect spoke in Changsha. We have an exchange student from there and her English is very limited. We tried asking her this, but she didn't understand. Since we are trying to hire a tutor for her, we need to know which dialect she speeks. Thank you for your help.

How many years of education has she received? I bet anybody with middle school level understands Mandarin. (except a few ethnic groups:))

ask her if she's SHUI or TU minority [水族，土族]
they r most of the time very beautiful,
ex. Song Zuying ;-)
