I am from Canada and will be staying in Shenzhen for a few days and then after that I would like to go Guangzhou. I looked up some transportation option and taking the train seems easy. Do you think that would be the fastest and economical way to get there? Would I need a visa to get into Guangzhou? Is it the same visa as the the one in Shenzhen? Can I get one from the train station?

Shenzhen Luohu Bus station located under the Luohu Commercial is also the site of the railway station and the MTR to HK. Getting a bus from here would be much simpler than the train. Both take similar time 2hrs.

Once inside China you only need one visa unless visiting HK, Macau and/or Tibet where you require separate visas for each and multiple entry visa to China if intending to travel between these areas and China more than once.
