Stereotyping means mentally placing people in categories. Stereotypes can be functional or dysfunctional. Stereotyping is functional when we accept it as a natural process to guide our expectations. Stereotyping is dysfunctional if we use it to judge individuals incorrectly, seeing them only as part of a group.

Unfortunately, Doutin, you are right. There are stereotypes of French and every other nation by small-minded people.

I would say your British interpretation is wrong though. Here in England, the French are considered romantic and beautiful, but arrogant and self-obsessed. I also know from experience that French people don't have a high opinion of British.

I met a great French couple in Laos whilst i was travelling with a British friend, we would always make playful jokes about each others culture/food/accent etc.

which is the famous brand in France ? Chivas ,Martell~~~ are easily found here ,are they made in France ? what do you think of them ?

France is too attractive to everybody in the world. I expect to there. That is a little pity that I did't see celebration. Their culture is famous all over the world not only in ancient time but also in present. I like their movie very much .As I know some conception of hollywood's movies are coming from France idea.
Paris is heaven of fashion also. Your eyes are easily attracted by the beautiful clothes and shoes especially woman.
