I wrote and published a book about Sino-Soviet border conflict at Zhenbao (Damanskii) Island in March 1969. Now I am looking for Chinese veterans of the battle. If anyone knows such persons, please, let me know.

Though my father talked a lot about Zhenbaodao event(or not only event, but a warfare) when we lived in Heilongjiang, I don't know any veterans.
Good luck!

Dear friends,
thanks for your replies. Unfortunately, you don't know anything about the question that I asked, but in any case I am grateful all of you.
Well, in such case one more question. I have known that three important participants of the battle at Zhenbao live in Shenyang (Hero of China Sun Yuguo), Harbin (Hero of China Leng Pengfei) and Dalian (Yu Hongdong). How can I find their addresses?
Rita, you are mistaken in the figure 68. In reality the exact figure of perished Chinese soldiers is a "top secret" till now. As to estimated figures, American historians say 800 and Japanese special service say about 3000. As to Soviets, they lost 58 men (I have a list of them - names, ranks, home addresses, etc.). By
the way, is your father alive? If "yes", may I ask him some questions?
And one more question. I'd like to send here my article about Zhenbao that was published in NATO's The Journal of Slavic Military Studies. But I don't understand how to do it in this system. Who knows how?
