To Conny: the funny thing is that maximizing your own utility, following the idea of all people being a HOMO ECONOMICUS, the optimum would be reached for the complete society - well, we all know that doesnt work;-) So for a longterm success the causal chain would be taking social welfare into consideration. Which means you have to keep the cow alive if you want to drink milk tomorrow, too. If you destroy your environment, exploit the people so that the social peace is in danger, you wont be happy with your short term success in the long run. Incentive-contribution-theories or coalition theories would explain why it should be necessary to think of your surroundings wellfare, too. So both should go hand in hand. But who cares about utopian theories?????? BREAD AND GAMES TO THE PEOPLE;-)

To CALI: for personal details a little bit more intimate surrounding would be appreciated;-)

if all the people know well about how to maxmize his utility , the economic policies can not achieve the desired end , that is to say ,government fail to control the economy .

To Elcabron:Yes,you are right!!!So mysterious like this.....(joking)

To Conny: If everybody would perceive benefit from altruistic action, there would be no political interference necessary - this is, of course a fairytale of utopian dreams......

I am sure we can't wait the coming of that utopian lives in our limited lives.
