regional museum, Urumqi

I want to visit the museum in May/June 2006. I've heard the museum is closed for renovation: will it be open in 2006? If so, can anyone please tell me what its opening days and times are - or how I can find out?

Hi Kath,
The museum was in the process of renovations(completely new buildings and dispays etc) last Summer 2004 but they kept the most interesting display open during that period.

It should be well and truly open by next summer, so just go have a look. It is in the same location. If the new one is not open by then you should still be able to see the mumified bodies which apart from the local culture is the most interesting of the exhibits.

yep it was rnovated already,but another one is built here .I didn't go in ,but I think it is pretty well.
