![]() | I'm researching pollution hotspots in China with an emphasis on legacy sites. I've come across many articles about the government having cracked down on polluting industries but couldn't find a list of industries that have been shut down anywhere. I'm especially interested in industrial sites with heavy metals pollution eg. lead, arsenic etc where a lot of people have been adversely impacted healthwise with high incidence of cancer, etc. |

![]() | Sorry, i can't help you but to point out the fact that China has 16 of the 20 most polluted cities in the world according to the world bank (fact published in the lonely planet china '05). I would be extremely interested in reading any report you write about this subject as i'm studying geography right now. All the best, Gaz |

![]() | Jinchang is a less known city, was founded because of the nickel mine - ranks the third in the world - I think it must be the most polluted city in the world, I went there in wintertime and the chlorine smell made the air hard to breath, literally. And I saw the green air, it's horrible:( |
