We are planning to go to China next January. What is it like in Xi'an in Jan? Too cold? Where are good places to go that are not too cold?

Dec and Jan are the coldest months in Xi'an. The temperature is about -7c to 5c. So you'd better do some preparation against cold. But most hotels and hostels have air-conditioner and central heating, so you won't feel cold inside at all.
