We are interested in hiking the high trail of tiger leaping gorge from Qiaotou to Walnut Grove in mid Nov and would like to know more about the weather there. Is mid Nov still in the raining season? Is it necessary to hire a guide? Any info is welcome. Thanks.

i am definitely not sure about the requirement of hiring a guide, if you do, you probably can find one from lijiang. definitely no raining season this time.

This walk is stunning, one of the best memories i have of China.

Depending on your fitness, the walk along the top of Tiger Leaping Gorge should take you about 12 hours, best split into 2 days (there are many guest houses along the way in which u can stay overnight).

The walk down near the bottom (at the other end of the walk) is much much more challenging and scary, yet only 2 hours, and i advise you get the opinion of locals and other travellers before u do it.

A good source of food/accomodation and information is the Tiger Cafe right at the start of the walk across from the place to buy your tickets.

I can't advise on the weather as i went in June.

Have a great time,
Gaz
