Hello. I'm interested in traveling overland from northeast India - Arunchal Pradesh state - into China, and continuing on to Chengdu. I am a travel writer and would be traveling with one other person, a photographer, as part of a travel documentary project.

I realize this is a very remote and politically sensitive area - and so the route, particularly the India to China border crossing, may not be possible. Anyone have any information or advice on this? Suggestions to learn more? On a map, most obvious route would be to arrive in village of Dzayul, in eastern Tibet, from India and go north then east to Chengdu, traveling by road.

I'd love to hear from anyone who could offer local knowledge - and thanks in advance...

Cheers,
Tom
