Hong Kong Airport Express Terminal?

I'm writing a story that takes place in Hong Kong, and I have been looking at maps of Hong Kong International Airport, but I am confused.

Does one have to take an escalator down from the arrivals hall to get to the Airport Express station?

And if so, does this mean the station is underground?

Also, if somebody can describe what the station looks like that would be appreciated, there aren't any good pictures of it that I can find. Thanks!

No need to take the escalator down from the arrival hall.

The airport express and the arrival hall are on the floor.
