Hi,all. I'm new to here. I'm sorry if my question appears inappropriate...I will visit Beijing in the coming December. Does anyone know if English-speaking private tour-guide ( or private assistant ) available out there in China? I do not speak Mandarin, need a helpful hand, a charming girl to go through the independent journey. Also, my intention is to fly to Shanghai and travel northward in one week. Should I book a flight in advance from home or is it possible to book a flight in Shanghai after I arrive? Any info appreciated. BTW --- From some other websites people speak high on a local agency Freeiva (www.freeiva.com ), did anybody use it?

I know little about Freeiva, but here is a discussion post for your reference: http://community.travelchinaguide.com/forum_search_2.asp?pp=1&i=10464 A mere post is not enough to judge whether it is good or not or even if it is cheating, but you should be careful using the so-called freelance tour guides. If you are not on a budget and really want a carefree China trip, there are many other reliable agencies to choose. Good luck!

It'll be cheaper to book your Shanghai-Beijing flight when you arrive in China. I don't understand what exactly you mean by "travel northward in one week", could you please explain? In any case, I'll be happy to help you out with the arrangements you need, I'm currently studying in Shanghai (not PRC Chinese though!)
