| I will be going to Nanning next week with a friend who is adopting a little girl. She is pretty preoccupied right now so I thought I would take resposibility for finding some things for us to see and do in and around Nanning. We both like shopping/sightseeing/photography. If anyone can give us a few suggestions I would really appreciate it. Keep in mind that we will have a 10-month old with us! Thanks. |

| The highlights in the city itself are parks and museums. The Bailong Park, also known as Renmin Park, offers peaceful scenery and a bird's eye view of the city. Nanhu Park is most famous for its large lake - the site for the annual Dragon Boat Race. The Guangxi Provincial Museum on Minzu dadao is a good place to get an impression of the culture of the local ethnic minority groups and an impressive drum collection. Around Nanning, there are natural attractions including the Detian Trans-National Waterfall on the border of China and Vietnam, the Yiling Cave in Wuming County and the frescos at the Huashan Scenic Area. In addition, local minority villages are worth visiting for the typical ethnic customs including the enjoyable singing and dancing. |
