| how I wish I could be powerful enough to make things right ,but ~~ we fall in love for more than half a year when I back to China . all above are concerned ,especially tender . she is so sensitive , this time she even ask me to quit smoking ,I can not believe it ! what should I do ? We are still in cold war now ,Chinese girl is really unique and sometimes strange |

| smoking is really a bad habit , I respect those non-smoker especially male . she just cares about your health I think , take it easy ,negotiate with her peacefully ,hope you can get agreement at last. |

| I am not talking about the harmfulness smoking would bring to you, obviously everyone knows about it. But it is normal for Chinese wives or girlfriends to ask their husbands or boyfriends to quit smoke. Like Conny said, she might just care about your health or your future babies' health:), remember, it is quite normal for Chinese girls doing that..., maybe they care a little bit too much to make their boyfriends feel uneasy. |

| You keep thinking that she is at fault. You expect her to be someone that you that you expect her to be. That is wishful thinking. Your behavior is not unlike a MCP. For once, you should try to be nice & kind to her and reverse your situation. You should learn to change to suit her if you can't change her to suit you. One of you has to give in. I suggest that you do. Think that she is right and you are wrong. Otherwise, be prepared to break up. Don't let this happen. Not just yet. Good luck! |

| why should I give up ? just to be a gentleman ? Smoking made me refresh quickly from tire , it is a necessary part of my life . I don't know why she concerns my hobby more than how I loved her , it is really a tiny thing but she warned me if she found me smoking once again ,she will leave me .Oh ,my God ! it is really unintelligible ! |

| Dear spyderman, I think you should not quit for your girl friend, but rather quick for yourself. If you are trying to find out how demanding she is, then asking you to quit smoking might be a bad way to judge. Maybe you should see what other things she demands from you? If not much at all, then maybe she is concerned about your health instead of being difficult. STLGIRL  |
