Hello :)

I'm an English student planning my upcoming 2 month trip to China & Thailand, and I'm looking at the idea of including a river trip from Chonquing to Wuhan, and then flying from there to Shanghai.

Would this be a possibility on what is almost a shoestring budget? Can one arrive in Chongquing and jump on a boat to Wuhan the next day, and then jump on a plane to Shanghai? If so does anyone have any idea of roughly how much it would cost?

Thanks a lot for your time,

Lee

You can join a Yangtze Cruise from Chongqing to Wuhan! We take this last year! The river cruise on the China Regal was excellent and we highly recommend it. The staff was very accomodating and Fred the river guide was excellent. All arrangements for the side trips were expertly handled as well. The food was diverse and well prepared and the nightly entertainment was first class. To top it off, we happened to be will a really great group of tourists who interacted well with each other and were really a lot of fun. All-in-all .... excellent!
As I remember, we spent US$699.00 p.p.on the 5-day cruise, and it was just the shoulder season at that time.
