SNOWBIRD Points: Join Date: Oct 16, 2005 Status: offline	Forget about Spiderman and his GF story. It is all make-up. Fiction!! Here's why smoking is a necessary evil and will continue to be so. Smoking can caused cancer and other lung diseases... so what?? Does the Government care?? No way. The Government is happy that people continue to smoke. Why?? It brings in revenue, that's why!! Government collects more revenue from cigarettes than from anything else (maybe except wine & liquor) Doctors are happy too. But thats another story. So, smoking will never be banned anywhere in the WORLD!! they just moved the smokers outdoors! haha... go on and puffed like a chimney...the government is happy!!

The irony is that more and more younger people are taking up this expensive habit. Young girls too. Young people think it is COOL to smoke.

How true, Snowbird.
Whilst the older folks are giving up smoking, the younger ones are taking it up. Whilst the men are discarding this expensive habits, the gals are picking it up.
It is cool, they think.
The other reason is that when people are bored, they need something to do. When their mouths are not talking, eating or kissing, they suck. Also when the weather is cold, they need to keep their mouths warm.
Forget about all those campaigns against smoking - they are not real unless the govt takes a concret lead against it. But why should they ? As you said it, it is huge revenue fopr them. Everything boils down to money.
By the way, why did and how did u start smoking ??
