shanghai to Hong Kong????

Hi guys!

Just wondering how easy it would be to get from Shanghai to Hong Kong by train over the period of a week, stopping at various places on route?

I wondered what places would be good to see on the way and if anyone else has done this or will be doing so in december?

Taking the Shanghai-Hong Kong direct train already takes a bit over 24 hours. Working on that, you'll have time to break the journey at 2 places at most if you rush. What are you interested in? Hangzhou, Guilin (Yangshuo) and Guangzhou all come to mind, it just depends on what your sightseeing preferences are.
